چکیده

PM2.5 (fine particles with diameters 2.5 micrometers and smaller) PM>2.5 were separately collected in Kanazawa, Japan every season, from the spring of 2017 to winter 2018, nine polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) six nitropolycyclic (NPAHs) respectively determined using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fluorescence chemiluminescence detections. The atmospheric concentrations both PAHs NPAHs showed seasonal changes (highest lowest summer), which differed variations total suspended particulate matter (TSP) amounts (which highest spring). contributions major sources combustion-derived (Pc) calculated 1-nitropyrene-pyrene (NP) method, pyrene 1-nitropyrene as representative markers NPAHs, respectively. annual average concentration Pc accounted for only 2.1% PM2.5, but same variation PAHs. vehicles (31%) coal heating facilities/industries (69%). A backward trajectory analysis that vehicle-derived was mainly Kanazawa its surroundings, facilities/industry-derived transported city areas central northern China winter, during Asian dust event spring. These results show large over a long range winter. Even spring, after season China, still storms passed through Chinese areas. By contrast, main contributors surroundings. recent much lower than those 1999. This decrease mostly attributed contribution vehicle emissions. Thus, Pc, strongly affected not by local emissions also long-range transport China.

Atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in Mumbai, India

Atmospheric particulate PAH concentrations were measured at two locations in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India. Total PAH concentrations (seven compounds) at Saki Naka and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) were 38.8 and 24.5 ng m~3. Pyrene and benz(a)anthracene#chrysene were abundant at both sites while benzo(b)#uoranthene and benzo(k)#uoranthene were abundant, in addition, at the IIT site. Th...

Concentrations, sources and temporal trends in atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in a major conurbation.

Concentrations of atmospheric PAH were separately determined in total suspended particulate matter and associated vapour phase in ambient air in Birmingham, UK. Samples of 24 h duration were taken simultaneously at two locations (the Bristol Road Observatory Site, BROS, and the Elms Road Observatory Site, EROS) on 44 separate occasions every one to two weeks between October 1999 and January 200...

Retrospective analyses of atmospheric polycyclic and nitropolycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in an industrial area of a western site of Japan.

Thirteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and four nitropolycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (NPAHs) on the surfaces of airborne particulates, which were collected at an industrial area of a western site of Japan during periods from 1976 to 1998, were retrospectively analyzed. PAHs and NPAHs were extracted from airborne particulates using hexane with ultrasonication, and then analyzed by HPL...

Biodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of potentially hazardous chemicals of environmental and health concern. PAHs are one of the most prevalent groups of contaminants found in soil. Biodegradation of complex hydrocarbon usually requires the cooperation of more than single specie. In this research biotreatment of PAH (phenanthrene) was studied in a solid-phase reactor using indigenou...

Transport of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in a Calcareous Wetland Soil

Knowledge of transport and degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is important in assessing PAH contamination of soils and water resources. The transport of naphthalene, anthracene, pyrene and phenanthrene was determined in a contaminated calcareous soil obtained from the Shadegan wetland (Khozestan, Iran) considering a column study in laboratory conditions. The PAHs were added ...
